    1: BS EN353 steel introduction

       The EN 353 alloy steel is a very high strength steel alloy that is quenched and tempered before supply and contains nickel, chromium and molybdenum to give it high tensile strength, good ductility and wear resistance. En 353 has relatively good impact properties at low temperatures and is also suitable for a wide range of high temperature applications. The EN 353 round bar has good internal strength and high external strength, which makes it have high wear resistance. The EN 353 steel round bar provides a good combination of ductility, strength and abrasion resistance. En 353 is a very high strength alloy engineering steel.

    6. Heat Treatment

          Hardening temperature / ℃ : 780 - 820;

          Tempering :EN 353 reheat to 780 C – 820° C, hold until the temperature of the entire section is uniform, then quench in oil, tempering must be carried out immediately while the EN 353 assembly is still warm. Heat to 150 C – 200° C. Hardness after tempering: 62-64 HRC.

          Annealing / ℃ : 630 - 670

    7: Delivery condition
        For hot forged  bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, rough turned/Black surface.
        For hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, Black surface.
        For hot forged block, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, milled surface/Black surface
        For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, black surface.
        For cold drawn bar, usually the delivery condition is cold drawn, annealed/QT, peeled/black surface
